Rush David Dixon

I am a wood turner and have been since my 8th grade shop class in 1960. I enjoy wood turning as a medium because it allows creativity as your piece spins before you. It allows for modification as the wood tells you what it wants to be. There is excitement with the Art as you really don't know what you have until you "open" it up. I value the warmth and beauty of the various woods available today, and try to conserve and not waste this valuable resource. My interests include Bowls, Platters, Lidded Boxes, Wine stoppers, and Coffee Scoops. I prefer the harder and more exotic woods such as Tamarind, Cocobolo, Thuya and Burls of any wood species.
