Gail LaGrone Newton

I have been a working artist for around fifteen years now. I began taking classes once I retired from public education in Charleston County, SC. I have received plein aire instruction and overall oil and acrylic techniques since then. I originally began painting in order to donate pieces to charitable organizations for their fundraising events.When living in the Florida Keys, I was a part of a weekly painting group in which we critiqued our work each time.

I prefer working in oils and completing landscapes. I also enjoy painting birds and the colors of the tropical sea. While living in the Keys I painted sea life with which I came into contact while snorkeling or off-shore fishing. I am enjoying painting the marshes and salt water birds in the Beaufort area.
