Obtained a BA in Fine Art from University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa, an M.A. in Art Therapy from New York University, and a PhD in Psychotherapy from Rhodes University, South Africa. Thesis research explored the creative process for the purpose of diagnosis and psychological healing, as well as developing insight into psychological issues. Emigrated to the USA in December 2000 and joined the Beaufort Art Association soon afterwards. Worked for the USA Navy in Texas, Japan and Greece as a mental health counselor, supervisor and advisor.
Artistic media include painting, drawing, mono-prints and clay sculpture.
Artistic interests include allowing the medium to suggest unanticipated forms and textures, developing these into images in a give and take between the medium, its manipulation, and the mind’s making sense of it.
