Born in Belgium, Eve always had a penchant for the arts. European galleries intrigued her on her many travels between Europe and the Middle East. After retiring from teaching French and Spanish on the secondary and college levels, she and her husband settled in South Carolina.
After taking a class in watercolor from Pam Hagen, Eve began to explore various mediums. Pam's encouragement was a catalyst in continuing exploration in the arts. A class with Mary Grayson Segars allowed Eve to explore shapes, lights and shadows. It was, however, a class with Linda Sheppard that exposed her to the beauty of pastels and Linda's enormous patience helped Eve find a "voice" in painting pastel landscapes.
The amazing low country panoramas and the fabulous contrasts of light are her inspiration for her artistic endeavors. Eve continues to develop her "voice" by participating in art classes and workshops. She also teaches pastel classes for beginners.
Her work is in private collections in the United States, Italy, Australia and Great Britain.
